Bruce Jordan, Marilyn Abrams, Vicky and David Eastwood in Boston where “Shear Madness” made its debut in 1980 at the Charles Playhouse after its premier at the Lake George Dinner Theatre in 1978. Now in its 26th year, Madness has become the longest playing non-musical in American theatrical history!
“Sheer Madness” is an outlandish comedy that takes place in a Lake George hair salon, staffed by two outrageous characters, flamboyant Tony Whitcomb and ditsy Barbara DeMarco. Their patrons are just as colorfully eccentric. When a crime is discovered in the upstairs apartment, the two stylists and their customers become suspects. The show is part script and part improvisation with irreverent local and national news references. Few topics or people are off limits. It’s “Saturday Night Live” ala Lake George Dinner Theatre!
